Rutgers Welcomes The Dalai Lama
Rutgers welcomed the Dalai Lama, an internationally respected advocate of peace, to deliver the public lecture “Peace, War, and Reconciliation” on Sunday, September 25, 2005, at Rutgers Stadium.

The visit of the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, winner of the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize, was the keynote event in a semester focusing on issues related to conflict and moral obligation. Honors seminars, special lectures, concerts, exhibits, films, and other cultural events and activities inspired by the Dalai Lama’s visit continue throughout the fall semester.

The Dalai Lama was Rutgers' 25th Mason Welch Gross lecturer.
