Office of the President
Administration
New Jersey statutes designate the 11-member Rutgers University Board of Governors as the principal decision-making body of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Complementing the role of the Board of Governors is the 59-member Board of Trustees, which serves in an advisory capacity.

President Richard L. McCormick implements the policies of the Board of Governors with the help of senior administrators, who serve as members of the President's Cabinet. In addition, the president also receives advice from various university bodies including the Administrative Council, which comprises all deans and vice presidents within the university and several other members of the senior staff.
